Marmolada
Winding road bike tour along the Marmolada
You start in San Vigilio/St. Vigil and follow the country road on a gentle ascent past San Martino/St. Martin in Badia/Thurn to Corvara. In the centre of Corvara, turn right and set off on the serpentine 10 km ride to the Gardena Pass. The gradient varies constantly between 5-11% - sometimes reaching 12-13% in one or two hairpin bends. The Gardena Pass is located at 2121 metres above sea level.
The route continues along the Sella massif to the Sella Pass at 2211 metres and from there a rapid descent downhill to Canazei in the Fassa Valley. Now begins the serpentine ascent to the Fedaia Pass at 2057 m with the reservoir of the same name, Lago Fedaia, at the foot of the Marmolada. The route then descends steeply to Rocca Pietore and continues along some challenging hairpin bends to Col di Lana. From there on to Arabba. From Arabba, you return to Corvara via the Campolongo Pass at 1875 metres.
Now follow the road out of the valley to Zwischenwasser and the 4 km climb to the Sporthotel Exclusive in St. Vigil.
Refreshment stops: Corvara, Gardena Pass, Arabba
